Harrisburg roof clean, cleaning and house wash. Pressure washer PA

Here is another home that was saved from a roof algae attack!! The owner of this Harrisburg PA home was very disappionted with the appearance of the shingle roof of his home, and also concerned about the life of the shingles. So after giving FullBlast Pressure Washing a call, and discussing how our no-pressure system that we use for safely cleaning his roof without the use of a pressure washer, he was ready to go.

He also wanted his siding pressure washed as to give the home a complete new clean look. So the roof and vinyl siding was cleaned and wow what a difference!! The man was one of the Happiest Homeowners in Harrisburg PA, he said I can't believe I was thinking of spending a ton of money in replacing the shingle roof just to get rid of the ugly black roof streaks and stain. I have like a new roof again.

He also said that he had some friends in the Camp Hill, Mechanisburg area that he was for sure going to tell about how well his house and roof are looking now, and said he would definitly tell them that FullBlast Pressure Washing is no doubt the company of choice to use.

Gutter cleaning Camp Hill, Mechanicsburg, Harrisburg

Last week we washed a house in Boiling Springs with stucco on the front of the house and the homeowner was concerned that we would not damage the stucco. I assured him that we would be using a commercial grade cleane to lift the dirt and that would allow us to use a lower pressure to clean the stucco, therfore reducing the risk of any damage to the siding. When we was finished washing the house, siding and stucco, I ask the owner what he thought, He says, Great...It looks great, you guys did a wonderful job.

But that was last week and now this week we are cleaning gutters!! Yes it is that time of the year when the leaves are falling from the trees and falling into the gutters on your home. It is amazing how much of a mat leaves can make and how well it can stop water from flowing, especialy in your gutters!! I have some trees at the one end of my house and I have to go up there 2 or 3 times a tear to unclog my gutters and downspouts, because if I don't the water starts running over the spouting on the front and down behind the gutters, and that is what scares me!!
Where does that water go when it goes down behind the gutters? Well amost of it just comes down behind it and runs onto the ground but some of it could be going into the house and could cause a lot of damage!!

Just a few things that can happen when your gutters are not flowing properly.
#1. Water will start making mess where it drips on the ground, and will start splashing up the bottom of your home, making it look bad.
#2. There is more chance and risk that water will begin to get into your basement, causing flooding and mold problems.
#3. The wood behind the gutters will become wet and will start to rot away.
#4. Water could start leaking into your home and causing huge damage and create a health hazard from the mold and algae that will begin growing in the damp areas.
#5. You will have a headache to deal with bigger than just gutters overflowing.

We suggest having your gutters checked and cleaned at least twice a year, depending on how many trees around your home it may need done more often.

If you live in the Central PA area, give us a call, we will give you a estimate for cleaning them out and will customize a plan that will fit your homes needs and will fit in your budget.

Another proud homeowner in Hummelstown Pennsylvania!!

Here is a roof we cleaned a few weeks ago in Hummelstown PA. This homeowner knows the value of preventive maintenance. After all why shouldn't he? He spent a lot of money to have a nice house for him and his family to live in, and knows that if you just leave it to nature it will slowly start looking ugly and breaking down. The black streaks you see on the roof may not look that bad yet, but just because you can't see it dosen't mean that is not up there. I have heard people say, that those black streaks just showed up on my shingles just last year. What they may not understand is that if it just started to look bad last year, that doesn't mean that the algae just started growing on the shingles. If it showed up last year, then it probably has been up there eating away at the roof for at least 1-2 years before you actually started seeing it.

Why wait to clean your roof until it is totally covered with damaging algae, and black streaks to get the problem fixed? Take care of your invesment by getting it cleaned before it shortens the life of your shingles another day!!

Remember to never use a pressure washer to blast away those ugly black streaks!!

Welcome to summer!!

Where is the year going so quickly? It seems the last time I looked out the window it was still snowing, and now here we are down to the 4th of July Already!!
Well they say that time sure flys when your having fun, so I guess we must be having fun!!

Yes I do really enjoy what I do, and in the cleaning industry there is a lot of different areas that our services take us. When I started pressure washing in 2001 I had no idea what all things would need to be cleaned. From power washing trucks to farm machinery to washing house siding. Then came a new request one day, can you clean the black streaks off of my Pennsylvania roof? Well I thought I probably could be cause I had a big pressure washer. So I did the job and it came out looking really nice, but there was something that bothered me. There was quite a bit of shingle grit in the gutters. Oh?? I thought this can't be a good thing. So later I was asked again the clean a roof, and I thought this time we will use a low pressure to wash the roof, well when I was finished I checked the gutter again and there was a little of the shingle granules in them but not nearly as much, but still to much for my liking. So I thought there has to be a better way to do this. So I started talking ith some other companies that were offering roof cleaning as a service and I picked their brains a little and learned this is something that you don't want to use a power washer on!! OH!!

I was told a pressure washer is designed to clean dirt, and those ugly black streaks on your roof is not dirt!! OH!! The black streaks are a algae that is actually living and growing on the roof, and is feeding off the limestone that is used to make the shingle. So I learn that algae is a pest and it should be treated as a pest. A pressure washer will clean the area making it look good, but the algae is still there and will return quickly because it was not killed, anly cleaned off.

Did you ever have some dandelions in your yard that you wanted to get rid of? What did you do? Just pop the head off? Bet it was back in no time wasn't it? That is because the root was still there thriving very well in the soil, same is true with the aglae on the roof. Those ugly black streaks can be washed off, but if not killed, it will return very quickly.

I will add more to this at a later time but before I run I do want to stress, do not use a pressure washer to save your roof!!! You will do more damage than good!!

Please check out our website for photos of homes in the Harrisburg PA area that we have made their roof look like new again!!

Punxsutawney Phil predicts an early spring!!!!

Well Punxsutawney Phil is my kind of man, or umm groundhog!!! Is anyone else as excited to hear that bit of news as I am?? I never was one to like winter too much, yea it was ok, but I would much rather be in a short sleave shirt, out in the sun doing a house wash or cleaning some concrete sidewalks somewhere!!
When I woke up this morning and looked out and seen the ice and snow, I was really glad to see Phil predition of a early spring. In my business of pressure washing and roof cleaning, cold weather pretty much closes our business down until warm weather. While I do enjoy some time off over the winter months, I am always looking forward to the first days of warm weather that we can get back out there and do what we love to do, making people happy by cleaning their property to make them look new again!!

What does spring mean to you? To me it meaning, warmer days, longer days, a new beginning to the new year, new flowers growing, new leaves on the trees, a new beginning to a fun and busy year of washing.

Untill the next time, stay warm and stay safe!!!

Happy New Year

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!
So the holiday that we have been waiting has come and gone already!! Here at FullBlast Pressure Washing we had a very nice Christmas and new year. We spent a lot of time with the family, and the boys really enjoyed being with their Grandparent, cousins, uncles and aunts.
But now it tme for us to focus on the year ahead of us. Where do we go from here?
You may ask, what does a power washer do in the winter time?
Well we do have some inside commercial jobs that we do thru the winter, but mostly we are gearing up for next year. We will be changing some tings here in the way that we handle the house washes and roof cleaning jobs. We want to try to make things a little more streamline so we can be more productive and be able to better meet your needs.
Untill the next time have a great year!!!!
