Siding Pressure Washing Palmyra PA
House Washing Palmyra PA

Here is one of the 300 homes that we washed this year. This home was one of the last homes washed for this year as you can see there is some snow on the ground with cooler temps.
This house had a lot of road dirt and dust on the siding and also some green algae growing on the siding on the north side of the house. The homeowner wanted this cleaned and shiney before the holiday season set in so we did what we could to reclaim the curb appeal by pressure washing the siding, gutters and other trim areas to give the home a holiday sparkle!!!
From power washing the siding, cleaning out he gutters and squeegee cleaning the windows, we got this home prepared for winter and looking great all in one process!!

Welcome to summer!!
Where is the year going so quickly? It seems the last time I looked out the window it was still snowing, and now here we are down to the 4th of July Already!!
Well they say that time sure flys when your having fun, so I guess we must be having fun!!
Yes I do really enjoy what I do, and in the cleaning industry there is a lot of different areas that our services take us. When I started pressure washing in 2001 I had no idea what all things would need to be cleaned. From power washing trucks to farm machinery to washing house siding. Then came a new request one day, can you clean the black streaks off of my Pennsylvania roof? Well I thought I probably could be cause I had a big pressure washer. So I did the job and it came out looking really nice, but there was something that bothered me. There was quite a bit of shingle grit in the gutters. Oh?? I thought this can't be a good thing. So later I was asked again the clean a roof, and I thought this time we will use a low pressure to wash the roof, well when I was finished I checked the gutter again and there was a little of the shingle granules in them but not nearly as much, but still to much for my liking. So I thought there has to be a better way to do this. So I started talking ith some other companies that were offering roof cleaning as a service and I picked their brains a little and learned this is something that you don't want to use a power washer on!! OH!!
I was told a pressure washer is designed to clean dirt, and those ugly black streaks on your roof is not dirt!! OH!! The black streaks are a algae that is actually living and growing on the roof, and is feeding off the limestone that is used to make the shingle. So I learn that algae is a pest and it should be treated as a pest. A pressure washer will clean the area making it look good, but the algae is still there and will return quickly because it was not killed, anly cleaned off.
Did you ever have some dandelions in your yard that you wanted to get rid of? What did you do? Just pop the head off? Bet it was back in no time wasn't it? That is because the root was still there thriving very well in the soil, same is true with the aglae on the roof. Those ugly black streaks can be washed off, but if not killed, it will return very quickly.
I will add more to this at a later time but before I run I do want to stress, do not use a pressure washer to save your roof!!! You will do more damage than good!!

Spring time house washing with FullBlast.
Hello and welcome to the blog of FullBlast Pressure Washing!! I the last couple of weeks have been going crazy here at FullBlast, us being a small family owned and operated business with 3 rigs doing power washing, it has been tough to keep the balance between work and family.

But thats not all wrong I really enjoy working hard and get bored when there is nothing to do, (which rarely happens) and we did have kinda a slow winter that allowed us to do some travaling with the family. We made a trip to Texas for a pressure washing convention and then we made trips to Kentucky and also to New York that will be remembered.
Last year kinda seemed to be a slow year for us in the residential house washing side of things, but now it seems that this year people are making up for lost time!! We have doing lots of siding washing, concrete cleaning, deck and patio washing, and an increasing amount of no-pressure roof cleaning in the Mechanicsburg, Camp Hill, Harrisburg Areas.
I often get asked what our appraoch to washing a house is, so I thought maybe I would write about that a little. When wash a house the first thing we do is make sure all the windows and doors are closed and that the screens are properly in place and latched, then we start by rinsing the shrubery and flowers on the side that we are working on, just to keep the soap and cleaners off of the leaves that could possibly cause damage to them, they we use a commercial grade cleaner, with mold inhibitors in to kill the mold that may be present. We spray this on the vinyl siding, the trim and also the gutters and let it dwell on the surfaces while we rerinse the flowers and shrubs, just to keep them free from the cleaners. Then when we have let it dwell for a few minutes and it appears to have killed the mold we are able to wash it off using a low pressure wash.
This is a lot better way then some ways I have seen, using a cheap soap or no soap and blasting away at the siding appearing to remove the mold but actually just taking the top off making it look good but not killing the mold that will rapidly return!! Also we are able to use the lower pressure which in turn lowers the risk of causing any damage to the house.
FullBlast Pressure Washing serves Central Pennsylvania, including Franklin, Cumberland, and Daulphin counties.
We will talk about roof cleaning in a later blog but until then you can find out about Streak Free Roof here.
